DESCRIPTION

This handwoven palm leaf ‘Kikapu’ is a traditional carrier made in the coastal regions of Kenya. This basket in particular was made by Aisha from Makongeni and who was the family who welcomed and hosted us to their village for the Spring 2024 Collection campaign shoot.

Weaving these baskets, known in Swahili as ‘suka’ is a an age old traditional skillset which is handed down from generation to generation.

We have added some Asha Eleven flare with some upcycled frill trimmed handles which will allow for a comfy load on your shoulder.
