Made in Kenya | Kikapu Bum Bag
The Fanny Pack is back! (Ok she has been for a while). Made in Kenya by two people, the weaving is done by Ali Bakari on the Kenyan coast using dried palms leaves and the leather and brass work is done by Jennifer (you remember Jennifer right?) in Thika. Jennifer uses discarded leather off cuts which would otherwise be headed to land fill and the brass is made from melted down old padlocks and the like.
The pouch measures approximately 30cm width and is around 16cm high. One side has an adjustable length brass buckle and the other side a detachable brass clasp. The zip opening is trimmed in leather with a leather tassel detail on the zip pull. The bag can be worn cross body, over your shoulder or around your waist.
